  4. I AM Ms. Pouncey! • I am from Marietta! • This is my 4th Year At CMS! • I AM SO EXCITED TO MEET YOU! • I am dyslexic, so I struggled in reading!

  5. Class List- Write in Agenda! • By Monday, August 6th, you will need: • 1 one inch binder • Pencils • 4 dividers • Paper • 1 Folder • You will keep the binder in my class at all times.

  6. Pet Peeves! • Pet Peeves! • NO HORSEPLAY • No phones unless sign is on green • Treat others with respect • HANDSANITIZER IS NOT LOTION • NO GUM!!! • Once supplies runs out, its out

  7. Our Classroom • I have classroom supplies available for all students! We are a team, so please return supplies after using it! WHEN SUPPLIES RUNS OUT, IT IS OUT FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! • Green Stickey- Use free without asking! • Pink sticky: Please ask Miss Pouncey before using! • If you break supplies, (things happen) that is fine! Let Miss Pouncey know! Please treat supplies with respect!

  8. Why so Many Frogs • Why So Many Frogs? • The color frog is determined by your class period! Your color frog determines where to put your binders, where to turn papers in, where to find homework assignments, and your class’s marble bins! The periods are as follows: • 1st period: Orange • 4th period: rainbow • 5th period: green • 6th period: yellow • 7th period: blue

The Expectations • Every day you will come to class with a pencil and your pleasure reading book • As soon as you walk in: • Grab binder • Begin Bell Ringer • Begin pleasure reading book after done with Bell Ringer • If you want to improve your reading, you should be reading 20 minutes every night!

  10. How am I graded? • 60% formative assessments (classwork, bell ringer quizzes every Friday) • 40% assessments (1 project and one multiple choice test per unit) • We have 4 units, THAT MEANS SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENTS EVERY 9 WEEKS

You Missed A Day? • You will see a bin that says “yesterday was” • In the bin, there will be folders with the days of the week on it • Your name will be on your the missed assignment in the folder of the day you missed! • All assignments are available on the blog. If you miss a few days, I expect you complete a portion of the work while you were away. Just because you are absent, it is not a free pass not to complete work!

  12. Turning In an Assignment Late • If you turn in an assignment 1 to 3 days late, you will receive 5 points off the assignment. • Anything after 3 days, it will be ten points minimum • If the assignment is more than a week late, you will only receive partial credit • If you feel that you need more time on an assignment, please let me know! I am here to help you be academically successful!

DO NOT ASK ME WHAT TO DO WITH IT! • Please complete Reading Interest Survey as your Bell Ringer (Found on Bell Ringer Desk). Please fill out appropriately, this will be a grade. Take is seriously! No IDK!

  16. Scavenger Hunt! • Directions: • Write your name on the top of the paper • There are questions on your paper. Around the room, you can find the answers. The answers will have the number of the question on the back. • Search the room for you answer, the answer will be located in a spot that is related to the question. • Please answer the question fully. • Work in groups of two • Movement around the room • Hands and feet to yourself! • NO HORSEPLAY • Walk around the room. Mistakes happen, be okay with that! • Model room movement • Noise level- • Level 2 (who can show me what that is like?) • 2 warnings, then you work silently • Put all belongings under desk and push in chairs
