  1. Finding Non-Religious Treatment for Alcohol & Drug Addiction Every person entering addiction treatment has their own beliefs and opinions and although perhaps the most well-known form of recovery support is 12 step, it is not for everyone. There are some people who believe that faith and religion can carry them into sobriety which makes 12 step the perfect choice for their rehabilitation from alcohol and drug addiction.

  2. What Is Non 12 Step Rehab? People who prefer to see scientific evidence of the efficacy of treatment are more likely to opt for non-12-step drug rehab than someone who has deep religious beliefs. Evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT are invaluable in non-12-step rehab centers in providing intensive counseling that’s truly personalized for improved chances of sustained recovery.

  3. Non 12 Step Is More Effective for Dual Diagnosis Cases When someone has a substance use disorder and/or another mental illness, it simply isn’t possible to heal them by requesting God’s intervention.

  4. Choosing Non-12-Step Rehab It is always important to feel comfortable with the treatment choices for substance use disorder. Addiction treatment is challenging for most people although it is made much easier if patients recognize how they can personally benefit from a program. Someone who has a strong tie to a particular faith or belief system is more likely to find resonance in a 12 step program, whereas those that don’t have plenty of other options to consider.
