  4. What is our Learning Target? • How mileposts can positively impact secondary schools with limited time and resources. Data at your fingertips for defining student learning needs, documenting interventions geared to improve a student’s grade or understanding of standards, and keeping behavior incidents recorded in order to get a ‘whole’ picture of a student. With teachers having the ability to access all of this information via Mileposts, secondary RTI meetings can done via a phone conference, while everyone is seeing the same information. This streamlines the time needed to complete the RTI protocols at the secondary level to meet this accountability piece. With parents able to have access via the Portal, they now are more willing to become part of the team. I can document my RTI Efforts for Academic Improvement for at-risk students.

  5. What is Essential? 1-Safe and Welcoming 2-Sense of Belonging 3-Standards and Viable Curriculum 4-Future Plan for All Students DATA to Back it Up!!!! Mileposts will give us that opportunity

Lab • Set up Probe data Progress Monitor and designate who will oversee plan for each student • SOMEONE NEEDS TO KEEP MILEPOSTS UP WEEKLY FOR EACH STUDENT • Notify Teachers of your At-Risk Students and Require and give them time to add what interventions they are willing to add for each at-risk student- Mileposts

  14. Mindset- Focus on Learning • INTERVENTIONS: • WHATEVER IT TAKES, THIS IS A MINDSET WE ARE STILL TRYING TO CHANGE. • WHATEVER IT TAKES… When you have staff and people around this idea, then miracles can happen and every student has a chance. • Mileposts gives us an opportunity to share interventions when we don’t have time to meet as a group. And when we do meet we have the plan in hand.

  15. Special Education Referral • Intervention Plan – Done • Progress Monitoring – Done • Documentation with Percentages –Done • Assessment and Achievement Data- Done • Student Information- Done • Discipline Data – Done • Behavioral Interventions- Done(Ripple Effects) • So nice if you need to make a referral –Mileposts

  21. One quarter left, you are really, really close.  You can DO IT!

  22. Awesome! Trend Line ABOVE goal line!  KEEP GOING!

  23. Interventions Documented • We can show what we are doing for every at-risk student • We can add students as needed when we see poor grades or at-risk behavior. • Time is our biggest issue and Mileposts gives us a viable tool for RTI and the best opportunity to mine data for every student. Documentation is key and I love the fact that we have it for students today. • Competition for online school is not far away and more and more students will leave if we don’t evolve and I believe mileposts is one of those programs that will help us stay relevant to the changing game.

  24. Parent Meetings • When we do meet with parents • Parents can see we care and are working hard to help their children. • We then have the opportunity to give them their part which is something we have had difficulty doing in the past. Very excited about this… • PARENTAL PORTAL – How can we create a true PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT Compact • Title One Audit. • I’m very excited to learn more about the Parent Portal!
