  1. PeopleSoft Grading • This presentation explains • How to enter semester grades • Directly into the PeopleSoft system

  2. Training/Testing Purposes Only! • If you are going to use • This power point presentation • For training purposes only • Through Internet Explorer • Access a special intranet link with this address • http://Intranet.ntc.edu/pstest.htm • This link will take you to a special page (see next slide) • That will allow you to login and access special • PeopleSoft training/test files (SATEST) • As a result, you can change and post grades • Without affecting live student records

  3. Training/Testing Purposes Only! To enter PeopleSoft’s training/testing files Click on the “PeopleSoft Student SATEST” link

  4. Entering PeopleSoft System • If you are training, use the links on the previous slides • To access PeopleSoft training/test system • Otherwise, to access the live PeopleSoft grading system • Enter through NTC’s intranet • Open up Internet Explorer • In the address bar enter this link (URL/address) http://Intranet.ntc.edu

  5. Enter this URL should take you • To NTC’s intranet site To enter PeopleSoft click on this link

  6. Next, you should now see • The PeopleSoft Login screen

  7. Now, Login to PeopleSoft • Note, login is case sensitive • It’s not the same as you network login • You must enter your • User ID and Password • Both in uppercase • When done, click the “sign In” button

  8. From the next screen • Click on “Manage Student Records”

  9. Next, • Click on “Establish Courses”

  10. From this screen • Click on “Use”

  11. Don’t give up you’re almost there • From this screen • Click on “Grade Roster”

  12. Finally, you are now at the Grade Roster screen • Before you can access grade rosters and enter grades • You must set several parameters Carefully follow the prompts located on the next several slides

  13. 1. Next to the Term field, select The search/magnifying glass Lookup Term 2. From the next screen Select “Lookup” 3. Use the scroll bar, drill down and select the current grading period

  14. After you select the appropriate term • The term number • will be displayed in the term box

  15. 1. Next, you will need to enter the course/catalog number • For the class you wish enter grades • 2. This class number can be located • On this class’s student roster • Enter the course’s eight digit number 3. After you’ve enter the course number, select the “Search” button

  16. * You will now see a list of classes • That match the entered catalog/course number • Note, if you have multiple locations • You will have to entered grades • For each location, • You cannot enter grades for all locations at one time. • As you enter grades, record each class number • That way, you know which ones have already entered • Click/select the class you wish to enter grades

  17. Next, to create the Grade Roster, click the create button

  18. From the next screen • First, note these tabs • Grade Roster Type and Grade Roster • To view this class’s student roster • And, enter grades • If not already selected, click on the “Grade Roster” tab

  19. What do they Mean?Grades and CodesRefer to NTC’s Policy 248 Grading System

  20. Student Grades • Faculty may post the following grades: A, A-, B+, B, B-,C+, C, D, F • Student Services process W(withdrawn) and DR, Dropped. • IP grade applies only to open-entry (OE) classes • I, incomplete, is only for extreme personal situations.

  21. You should now see the student roster • For the class you’ve selected to enter grades • In the “Grade Input” column • Enter the student’s letter grade • Remember, no C- (minus) grades are permitted

Once you have entered all or some/partial grades • For this section • Located on the screen’s lower left • Click the save button • On save, you will get a confirmation • However, the confirmation flashes • Quickly on the screen’s top right • If you miss the confirmation message • Rest assured, they are saved

  23. After grades are saved for this section/roster • Click on the “Grade Roster Type” tab

Next, Posting this Section’s Grades • To complete a full post (all grades are completed) • See the next slide • Partial post (not all grades are completed) • See the slide after the next slide • Note, partial posting will allow you to • Later, return to this roster, • Enter remaining grades, • And then complete a full post

  25. Full Posting • From the drop down list • 2. Select “Approved” 3. Uncheck the “Partial Post” check box 4. Click the “Post” button

  26. Partial Post(Not all grades for this section are entered) • From the drop down list • 2. Select “Not Reviewed” 3. Check the “Partial Post” check box 4. Click the “Post” button

  27. You have now completed the procedure • To enter grades for a single section/locations • To enter grades for remaining sections/locations • From the “Grade Roster Type” screen • Click on the “Return to search” button • Select the next section and repeat the above procedures • (slide #14)

  28. After you have entered • And posted or partially posted your section’s grades • You can sign out of the PeopleSoft system

  29. Posted Grades • Once your grades are posted, you can not change a grade. • To change a grade after you have posted them, complete a Grade-Change form and send to attention: Sandy Laabs, Student Services (WK)
