  1. Comparison of adjectives

  2. We use adjectives to describe the noun. Adjectives add information about the noun. For example: The bag is beautiful. Shrek is green. When do we use adjectives?

  3. Sometimes we want to compare between people, or between animals or any other objects (cars, shoes ,buildings etc.) and then we also use the adjectives. For example: The tallest man in the world.

  4. When we compare between two people/things that are the same : Dana is astallas Ronit. The spider is asbigas a plate. some rules for using comparison of adjectives…

  5. The rule: The noun+ as +adjective+ as + the other noun. The baby boy is ascuteas his baby sister. The nouns are the same, they are equal. (זהים, שווים בתכונה מסוימת) as adjective

  6. 2. When we compare between two nouns that are not the same, one is morethan the other- we use comparative adjectives. Tom is biggerthan Jerry. Spelling rules • When the adjective has one syllable we add to it the endingertall taller • When the adjective has one syllable and it ends inconsonant- vowel- consonant(CVC) we double the last consonant when adding er: bigbigger

  7. 3. When the adjective has two syllables or more we add the word more before it. The butterfly is more beautifulthan the fly. 4. When the adjective ends with ly or y we omit the y and add ier: busy  busier lovely  lovelier. 5. When the adjective ends with e we just add r. large  larger.

  8. 3. When we compare between more than two people or things we use superlative adjectives. The rule: The noun + the verb+ adjective +est + rest of the sentence. He Pingping is the shortestman in the world.
