Lessons Learned from Building a Skyscraper in 3rd Period
During my 3rd-period project on skyscrapers, I discovered that constructing buildings involves intricate details and planning. Drawing a skyscraper on a large paper proved challenging as it needed to accurately resemble real structures. This experience taught me valuable skills that I can apply in future projects to ensure they are strong and well-executed. I integrated English, history, math, and science into this project, learning about assembly lines and division of labor along the way. This holistic approach helped me understand the complexity of building design.

Skyscrapers • A. What I learned is that building things is not as easy as it seems because there’s a lot of small details you have to do before it’s complete. • B. What was challenging was that we had to draw the skyscraper on a big piece of paper and it had to look like the real skyscraper. • C. I can use what I learned in the future when building something to make sure it’s strong and good enough. • D. By writing I used English, when I learned about the skyscrapers built in the past I used history, when we measured how tall our drawing was going to be I used math, and by building it I used science. • E. I learned how assembly lines work and about division of labor too.
