Alternate K-PREP FALL 2019 Updates and Overview Presented by Kevin O’Hair
Changes for 2019-2020 • Reading and Mathematics will be assessed at grade 10 to align with future summative assessments at high school. No assessments will be given at grade 9. • Will test current standards for accountability in Window 1 and Window 2 with small range field test tied to Window 2. • New standards will be reviewed (Fall 2019) and field tested (Spring 2020) for a fully accountable assessment in 2021.
Materials • Materials typically arrive in the district 1-2 weeks prior to the beginning of the testing window. • It is advised to allow teachers access to the materials before they begin administering the assessment. The intent is to make any needed changes to the tasks that will allow the student access to the materials per the type of adaptation type required. NOTE: Window 1 Materials to Districts: October 21-25.
Online Training System (OTS) • System to track teacher quiz completions. • Registration is valid from one year to the next. Anyone new will need to register in Alternate K-PREP Systems site. • DACs should check the box on the registration page that reads “ I serve as a DAC or DAC representative within my district”. • To initiate first time access, please use information below.
