  1. Sodium Hypochlorite InjectionMunicipal Potable Water Disinfection PFC Distributor: Able Wright, Inc. Plains, Montana Customer: City of Kalispell Kalispell, Montana

  2. Application Details • Municipal Water Well Station – Two supply wells controlled. Flowrate: 1000 gpm, max. • 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite, feed at 2 ppm max. • Dual injection pumps required for independent well disinfection and redundancy. • Motor driven metering pump selected by Engineer. • Variable pump output required for chlorine residual control, based upon 4 – 20 mA signal. • Engineer initially specified chemical metering pumps with DC motors and SCR Drive Controllers.

  3. Problems / Opportunities • Municipal Customer has lengthy experience with another brand of chemical metering pump, doesn’t want to change. • Consulting Engineer engaged to design the new well station and hypo disinfection system. The Engineer needs a lot of design assistance preparing plans & specifications. • Contract out to bid: ProMinent Sigma/ 1 Control pumps are specified as an approved alternate (with LMI & Pulsafeeder). • Customer reluctantly agrees to “try” ProMinent pumps on a municipal bid contract. • Contractor does sloppy job of installing the pumps and chemical feed piping system.

  4. The successful ProMinent solution… • ProMinent Sigma/ 1 Control pumps and system components are provided. • Multiple trips to the jobsite were required to resolve Contractor installation issues. • Customer’s confidence was gained by: • Patiently addressing their complaints • Using “problems” as an opportunity to train the operators & demonstrate ProMinent equipment features, capabilities & advantages. • As a result… • We were able to satisfy the customer on this project. • We secured the order for two pumps on their next well station. • We are the new “Standard Spec” for upcoming well station projects.
