  9. A desktop database is not… • …an Access Web app • There is no easy way to convert an existing desktop database to an Access Web app

  10. An Access Web app is not... • …an Excel or Word Office app • Insert tab, Apps for Office

  11. An (Access) Web app is…. • A fully functional database application • Tables • Queries • Forms • Reports • Macros (recall Macros in 2010 were improved) • (not modules, no VBA) (I wish they would have called it aWeb database)

(Access) Web app progression… • Access 2007, 2010 had the ability to share tables, forms through SharePoint, .accdb • Access 2013 web app file =.accdw (uses SQL Server 2012 for tables) • Complete Web-deployable database / application • Hybrid databases still have .accdb extension • “desktop” vs. “web” icons in database file
