EMpower Why was it set up? In response to an acknowledged skills shortage following Government report (2002) Proposed that environmental masters courses could represent a hitherto untapped recruitment stream. Skills needed for nuclear decommissioning & waste management include analytical chemistry, geochemistry, geology, land remediation, hydrogeology, wastewater engineering, occupational health, biochemistry, ecotoxicology & others
