  2. Uniquely You Have you ever thought about what makes you special? Why you look different, think differently or behave differently from others? Scientists have been working hard to find out too! As it turns out, the answer might just lie in a complex relationship between your genes, environment and the kind of lifestyle you lead. The Uniquely You exhibition explores the complex combination and interaction of genetic inheritance, environment and lifestyle influences through three sections.

  3. Kinetic Garden Serving as a frontage to welcome you to the Science Centre experience, the Kinetic Garden is a unique outdoor exhibition which demonstrates certain scientific principles and phenomena that would be difficult to create in an indoor setting. Come and discover the inter-relationships between the different forms of energy and much more through interactive and interesting exhibits like the Magic Swing, a Sundial and a Lithophone.

  4. Marine Alcove The Marine Alcove introduces visitors to our ocean, focusing on interesting facts about its physical environment and the creatures living there. You can listen to an underwater symphony of sounds created by the movement of fishes in a tank. You will be able to see close-ups of corals and aquatic creatures and control an underwater camera inside a tank. The Marine Alcove also features some interesting marine life – some very familiar and others rarely seen.

  5. Waterworks Water is a precious resource to all living things. A person can live about a month without food, but only about a week without water. Discover some intriguing facts about water and find out about the importance of water in our lives. Be prepared to get wet as you explore Waterworks and its hands-on exhibits.

  6. Genome Genes are the basic unit of heredity that pass traits from one generation to the next. The ability to roll your tongue and whether you have free earlobes or a widow’s peak are some of the hereditary traits that are determined by your parents’ genes. The Genome exhibition explores the building blocks of life . It examines the basics of genetics and its applications today and in the future, as well as some of the possible impacts of these applications on society.
