Legacy of Imperialism Many countries maintain aspects of their own culture, but also hold onto many things taught to them by the Imperialistic nations: Pros Cons • Democracy • Electing/Re-electing their own president • Voters and opposition (rival candidates) believe that his victory is fraudulent • Movement for the Liberation of Congo • Rape by soldiers • Rich in resources • Instability and isolation prevent proper utilization
