Legislative Bodies(General Assembly)Makes Laws • The General Assembly is bicameral, meaning having two houses • The two houses are the Senate and the House of Representatives • They are all elected by the people of Illinois • They must be 21 years or older, a resident of the district for 2 years, and a U.S. citizen • Salary: $67,836.00 annually plus $132 per diem • In order to conduct business, the General Assembly needs a quorum – a majority of members
