  3. On your table you will find an article to read. On the back of the article review the content specific vocabulary. You will have 5 minutes to read the material individually. Reading assignment Common Core Reading Standard #6: Analyze the author’s purpose in providing an explanation, describing a procedure, or discussing an experiment in a text, identifying important issues that remain unresolved.

  4. Why did the author write this article? • If this article is the answer to a question, what is the question? • Who did the author have in mind when he wrote the article (do not say everybody)? Points to include are bulleted below. • What is the age range of readers? • Who buys Money Watch? • 4. Of the three leadership styles which style might disagree with the author’s point of view and explain why? • 5. If you were co-authoring a follow-up article with Steve Tobak, what three additional phrases would you add to the existing list of seven and explain your reasons? For the next 10 minutes you will work as a group to complete the questions below. You will need a facilitator, a recorder and a reporter to accomplish this task. Reading Activity

  5. In pairs: Read the scenario. Draft an action plan that describes your vision and reasonable outcome you wish to accomplish. Include specific steps to implement for your crew to improve on customer service. Select a format that is easy to follow. Please refer to the article for examples to strengthen your decisions. Your plan should reflect a specific leadership style. Identify which style is reflected in your action plan and why is it the most effective style for this scenario. Remember to use content specific vocabulary.
