  21. Assistantships • What do they cover • Tuition: • Tuition • Some include fees and health insurance • Stipend • Varies with duties. For lab instructors and RA at least $917/month for 18 hrs/wk. Graders $700/mo. • Responsabilities • Full assistantship is equivalent to 6 credits • One credit of assistantship equals to 3 hours per week. • Duration of granted assistanship • Teaching: 1 semester • Research: up to a year

Assistantships • Some Regulations • A Master degree student can receive assistantship, regardless of the source, for up to two years (4 semesters) • A fifth semester might be granted under special circumstances. • Last priority. • Need to be a regular student • Registered in at least 9 credits OR • Registered in thesis • Cannot be in probation • Probation • GPA below 3.0 • NS in thesis • Three times probation and the student is suspended from graduate school
