slide4

(Son 3:8) They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.

slide5

(Jud 1:14) And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

slide6

(Psa 45:3) Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

(Eph 6:17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

slide7

(Neh4:17-18) They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

slide9

(Son 3:8) They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.

slide11

(Son 3:9) King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.

(Son 3:10) He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.

slide12

(Son 3:11) Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.

slide13

(2Th 1:10) When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

(Rev 14:14) And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

slide15

(Son 4:1-5) Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead. Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them. Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks. Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men. Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.

slide17

(Isa 1:6) From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

slide18

(Son 4:1) Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

slide20

(Son 4:2) Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.

slide22

(Son 4:3) Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.

slide23

(Eph 4:29) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

(Eph 4:30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

(Eph 4:31) Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

(Eph 4:32) And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

slide24

(Son 4:3) Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.

slide26

(Ezr9:5-6) And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God, And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.

slide27

(Jer 8:12) Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

slide28

(Son 4:4) Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.

slide29

(Pro 29:1) He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

(Jer 17:23) But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

slide30

NOTES

  • More than likely the “Tower of David” that is referred to here is the “Tower of Zion” in the city of Jerusalem that David captured when he made Jerusalem the capital (2 Sam. 5:7)
  • This was the group of Jebusites that had lived and pestered the Jews from within their own borders
slide31

(Psa 61:3) For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

(Pro 18:10) The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

slide32

(Son 4:4) Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.

slide33

(Isa 61:10) I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom deckethhimself with ornaments, and as a bride adornethherself with her jewels.

slide34

(Gen 24:22) And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;

slide35

(Eph 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(Eph 1:14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

slide37

NOTES

  • The imagery here is of a woman that is at full maturity.
  • The analogy of them being like two “roes” or deer feeding, gives the idea that they are not in the early stages of development, but they full enough to lean down ward.
  • Historically the breast were the basic sign to others that a women was ready for marriage (predetermined marriages)
slide38

(Pro 5:18) Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.

(Pro 5:19) Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

slide39

NOTES

  • The breast are created for two fold reasons…
    • Reproductive tools (nursery)
    • Sexual attraction with the husband (intimacy) compared to the face or arms, etc
  • When we are at intimacy with Christ we will have reproduction in our church.
slide40

(Son 4:6) Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.

(Son 4:7) Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

slide41

(Eph 5:25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

(Eph 5:26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

(Eph 5:27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
