  2. The Poisoned Chalice • The sorceress Nimueh is angry at Merlin for foiling her plans, so she poisons him. Arthur finds the antidote in a dangerous valley by first overcoming Nimueh.

  3. The King Marries a Troll • King Uther is bewitched into marrying a troll, who plans to kill Arthur and Uther and become queen of Camelot, mainly because of the riches and power.

  4. The Dorocha • Morgana opens the gates to the Underworld and releases evil spirits, the Dorocha, who Merlin is powerless against, even with magic. Merlin stops one from killing Arthur and eventually recovers.

  5. The Questing Beast • When a magical beast injures Arthur fatally, Merlin must find the cure quickly enough, or the Once and Future King of Albion will be gone.

  6. Excalibur • To restore Arthur’s confidence after being defeated by Morgana, Merlin magically embeds a sword in a stone so that only Arthur can pull it out, and tells him that only the true king can pull it out. This gives him confidence, and he rises up and regains power from Morgana.
