Jesus Never Changes “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Heb. 13:8 Jesus never changes because He is eternal He and His doctrine are unchangeable Hebrews 1:12 “And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same. and thy years shall not fail” Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Past = yesterday Present = today Future = forever

  6. False Conclusions Instrumental Music is Ok in worship today Used it in the past He does not change Therefore it must be OK. Also used incense, worshipped on Sabbath John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

  7. How is Christ the Same ? In His Divine Nature “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?” Heb.1:5 Redemption: “flesh and blood” = Heb.2:14 “be tempted” = Heb. 4:15 “be perfected” = Heb. 5:9 Causes Him to be unchanging

  8. How is Christ the Same ? His Characteristics His Love does not Change John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than THIS that a man lay down his life for his friends” 2 Corinthians 5:14 “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge. that if one died for all, then were all dead:”

  9. How is Christ the Same ? His Characteristics His Church is unchanging Daniel 2:44 “never be destroyed… it shall stand for ever” 1 Cor. 15:24-26 - reign until last enemy defeated

His Characteristics His word / truth is unchanging God speaks through His Son - Heb. 1:2 Mt. 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall Pass. away. but my words shall not pass away.” I Peter 1:23 “Being born again. not of corruptible seed. but of incorruptible by the word of God. which liveth and abideth for ever.”

  11. How is Christ the Same ? His Characteristics His word / truth is unchanging Plan of salvation does not change Moral standard is unchanging Sin is always an abomination to God Rom.1:18 “hold the truth in unrighteousness”

His Characteristics Willingness to save man Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise. as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish. but that all should come to repentance.”

Jesus CanChange You Listen to His Word = can make you a new person Saul - - became the Apostle Paul You can change from a sinner to a Christian Repentance = change of heart = results in a changed life Baptism = old man is buried = Resurrected as a child of God Can change you into a fruitful child of God
