  3. IFAD’s Policy & Technical Advisory: What do we do? • IFAD PTA Water offers a solutions-based service in support of the design and implementation phases of the IFAD project lifecycle. We are your in-house advisor and can help you: • Identify opportunities for developing and improving the likelihood of success with your project when it comes to water-related issues. • Identify the various impact pathways for water. • Provide guidance on a balanced design for implementation. • Leverage our repository of knowledge and networks to help you find the right consultant or provide you with targeted information. • Provide guidance on where and how water-based approaches have worked before. • Provide support on how to document the activities and outcomes of your project. • Understand your problem from a technical or water perspective and provide tools in support of your work (e.g. ToRs, M&E indicators; sector analysis). • Work with your technical consultant to broaden their knowledge of the water sector; • Provide decision-support on water-related issues. • Support you on procurement and partner with you to meet on-time delivery of your project. • Identify project risks and advise on choices to mitigate those risks.
