  6. Catriona Hudson – Senior Organisational Business Partner SCC A pub landlords daughter from Scotland - former professional singer and actress, a highly respected and inspirational leader, motivational speaker, coach, OD and NLP practitioner; Catriona works right here at Stafford in SCC within our Organisational Development (OD) team. Prior to SCC she was a member of the Executive Management Teams at two North West Housing Groups responsible for leading their Corporate Development Directorates. These roles saw her lead large scale transformation programmes including the most successful transfer of a housing ALMO to become an independent registered provider - releasing millions of pounds for investment in social housing within Oldham. Catriona came across S.U.M.O by Paul McGee back when she was an OD Manager. She saw Paul speaking at a CiPD event and was hooked. Over the years Catriona booked Paul for numerous conferences as she recognised the power of the SUMO principles and was keen to share them. Taking that a step further (never one to shy away) Catriona got to know Paul and eventually created an opportunity to let him see her present – following which she began working as his associate! Catriona shares the SUMO principles across all sectors up and down the UK and has presented from Glasgow to Gloucester, Bolton to Bournemouth, Skegness to Jersey – and many many times here at Stafford. During Learning at Work weeks in SCC Catriona can be regularly seen rushing (well gliding!) from seminar to seminar clutching props as she goes! What is SUMO? The SUMO philosophy has been developed by internationally recognised speaker and best-selling author Paul McGee over the last twenty years. The SUMO principles are now used in a wide range of organisations from the public and private sectors and from charities to a Premiership football team. In a climate of constant change and ever-increasing challenges, the SUMO message can help equip people with practical ideas and insights to make a success of both our work and home lives.

We welcome feedback from all market sectors and particularly residential and nursing home providers, the voluntary sector and registered social landlords. The survey closes on Friday, 1st March and can be found on the Staffordshire County Council consultation portal. We’d love to hear your feedback.
