PTA Board Elections – April 1st We will be holding elections for two board positions at our next general meeting on April 1st at 7pm in the school library. Trish Dickshinski is up for reelection as our Board’s teacher representative and recording secretary. Trish and her family have lived in the South Riding area for 18 years and she has been teaching at HFES for 8 years! Her oldest daughter started college this year and her youngest is a sophomore at John Champe High School. Trish and her husband are active members of their church and enjoy travelling and doing activities with their daughters. Trish has enjoyed serving on the PTA Board for several years and is looking forward to another term. Jennifer Kaskas is running for the position of Third Vice President charged with overseeing fundraising efforts. Jennifer has worked tirelessly for HFES this year, including co-chairing both Bingo events. She and her husband have two active boys, Tarecin First Grade, and Dominic at Primrose Preschool. Jennifer has been Commissioner for Loudoun Soccer Mini Soccer Program for almost five seasons and she is anxious to play an even more active role in HFES’s PTA by joining the Board. Please come to our April 1st General Meeting to meet these ladies, cast your vote, and learn more about what the PTA has planned for the rest of the school year! PTA FUNDS IXL! The PTA is pleased to announce that it purchased a new subscription of IXL for the school! 2. ======================================================================================================================================================================== We Want YOU TO Get Involved! ==================================================================================== After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) Our ASEP is in need of ONE more volunteerto assist with the check-in process on Thursdays. The commitment is for 30-40 minutes each Thursday of ASEP classes beginning at 2:20pm. If your child will be participating in an ASEP class, please consider volunteering. Contact Karen Grant at karen.grant@hfespta.org as soon as possible to volunteer your time! JOB OPENINGS! HELP WANTED! We have been extremely lucky to have had some longstanding volunteers in critical programs over the years but some of them, after FIVE years on the job, are looking to pass the torch to YOU. We are looking for folks to run our Box Tops program, DDC campaign/PTA membership, and School Pak programs among others. These positions are very important and we would like to identify replacements as soon as possible. The ladies who have run these programs all have volunteered to help with the transition and answer any questions you may have. If you’re too intimidated to take a program on by yourself, get a friend to team up with you! Please consider giving your time to keep these programs running smoothly! Contact Sherry Zamora (sherry.zamora@hfespta.org) if you are willing to help! Thank you to Mike Seymour and Jennifer Kaskas for running our Spring Bingo night! The introduction of dinner food for purchase this year and awesome raffle prize lineups undoubtedly contributed to terrific turnouts at both Bingo events this year and the bar has been raised for future HFES family fun nights. Jenn and Mike teamed up to coordinate both Bingo events this year and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude for their service to the school. Please thank them when you run into them at the next school event! Karen Grant and the PTA Board also extends its gratitude to the following dedicated volunteers who worked Check-In for the ASEP Winter Session: Jillian Fawcett, Kristin Hudenburg, Jennifer Kaskas, Kelly Nacson, RicheleNealeigh, Kerrie Newbrough, Susanne Parra, and Mike Seymour. Without these individuals we could not have run the program so efficiently and safely! As always, we send a huge shout out to our South Riding businesses who generously sponsor many events at HFES! The PTA would like to thank Dr. Kravitz, Top Kick Martial Arts, i9 Sports, Dulles Golf Center, Glass Slipper Cakes, KuleYO’s, Manhattan Pizza, Jersey Mikes, andMoe’s for their event sponsorship this year!
