Neon Fish Distribution faced customer complaints regarding Guppy mortality, prompting a need for urgent solutions. After analyzing potential causes, including toxic algae and poor feeder fish, our team defined a budget of $500 for corrective measures. The decision was made to switch feeder fish suppliers, a cost-effective strategy that ultimately improved fish health and financial stability. By implementing tank cleanings and engaging with our former supplier for reimbursement, we successfully restored our inventory and customer trust.

Definition of problem • Our problem is: we are receiving complaints from our customers that our fish we have sold to them are dying and our customers are asking for a refund.
Analysis of problem Possible outcomes of fish dying • Toxic algae • PH levels could be off • Parasites • Bad feeder-fish • Ammonia and Nitrate Problem is only with the fish that eat other fish.
Criteria for problem • Roughly we were making about $1250 a week. Meaning we make $5000 a month and a year, we make $60,000. We have two weeks to implement a plan • Out of our budget system, we only have around $ 500 to fix the problem.
Possible solutions We could try to do the following things to fix our problem • Switch equipment • sWitch feeder fish • Give them a chance to fix the problemand hope for the best • Breed our own fish • Change supplier • Sue them for money • Find a cure ourselves and medicate the incoming fish
Evaluate solution • OUT OF OUR BUDGET SYSTEM WE ONLY HAVE AROUND $500 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. • sWITCHing FOOD BRANDs WE WOULD BE LOSING AROUND $350.27 A MONTH, MEANING THAT THE REMAINING 149.73 IS TO PAY OTHER EXPENSES WHICH ISN’T GOING TO WORK. • If we switch feeder fish which is $45.99 a month through smart fish co. if all else fails, we can switch to full fish supplier for $60.00 a month. Leaving us $450.00. • Due to the financial situation, we have decided to go with switching the feeder fish because, it’s cheaper and saves us a lot of money.
Implementing solution • We decided to switch were our feeder fish come from. • We switched all water and scrubbed all tanks. • We informed our previous supplier that their fish are sick. • We explain how we are losing money and that they need to send us better fish or we find another supplier.
Follow up • The previous supplier agreed to a reimbursement. • WE replaced all fish. • All of our fish are healthy and we are doing better financially.
