  2. PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  3. WHEN ARE CONFERENCES? • Nov 10th and 11th (Early Release days) • It is important that you arrive on time, ready for your conference.

  4. REASONS FOR HAVING A CONFERENCE • Academic support • Behavior concerns • Requirements for passing • Strategies for student achievement • General positive/negative issues within the classroom

  5. WHAT A CONFERENCE LOOK LIKES: • 10-15 minutes (you may schedule another personal conference if you need more time)

  6. Teachers will deliver important information concerning your child’s academic and behavioral success • QUESTIONS ARE VERY WELCOMED!

  7. EXAMPLES OF QUESTIONS TO ASK DURING A CONFERENCE: • What are my child’s grades? • How can I help prepare my child for each class? • What support/encouragement can I give to my child at home?

  8. What supplies does my child need to bring to school each day? • What homework can I expect from class every night? • What is the academic effort/behavior of my child in class? • What is the social effort/behavior of my child in class? • How does my child interact with peers?

  9. What are the grading weights for each class? • What are Interim exams? Why are they important? • What are the requirements for passing this grade level?

  10. MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION: • Contact information from your household • Phone numbers (home, work, cell numbers) • Email • Emergency Contact

  11. BEFORE YOU LEAVE: • Take the Parent Survey in the White Lab • Sign up for Parent Portal!!
