    4. Engineered Blowers & Vacuum Systems at Work Around the World… Providing Innovative Solutions Since 1892. SPENCER HISTORY

    5. The Spencer Turbine Company was founded in 1892 in Hartford, Connecticut by Ira Hobart Spencer. The founder of Spencer, Ira Hobart Spencer, first developed a water driven hydraulic engine to pump pipe organs in churches and theaters. By 1904, Mr. Spencer developed an electric organ blower, the ‘Orgoblo®’ which was installed by principal organ builders worldwide for use in churches, theaters, hotels, schools and universities.

    6. Throughout the decades Spencer continues to develop new products. In 1905, Spencer introduced the Turbine Vacuum Cleaner for central vacuum cleaning and in 1917 developed a portable model. A year later, the Spencer centrifugal turbo-compressor was introduced. Yesterday and today, Spencer has many landmark installations, including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and the White House.

    7. Today, Spencer has a worldwide reputation as the company to contact to solve the most difficult air and gas handling problems. In 1975, Spencer built a new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Windsor, Connecticut. The 200,000 sq. ft. facility is located on 33 acres at 600 Day Hill Road, Windsor, CT.

    13. Multistage Centrifugal Blowers Standard Designs - SOH Spencer’s standard overhung (SOH) is a popular design with OEMs. The impellers are mounted on an extended motor shaft and its two-bearing design reduces maintenance. This trademarked design is also known as the ‘Sugar Scoop’ and can achieve pressure to 5.5 psig.

    14. Multistage Centrifugal Blowers Standard Designs – 4BOH Spencer’s four-bearing overhung (4BOH) has impellers mounted on a blower shaft which is coupled to a standard shaft motor. The 4BOH also features the “Sugar Scoop” trademark and can achieve pressures up to 8 psig.

    15. Multistage Centrifugal Blowers Standard Designs – 4BOB Spencer’s four-bearing outboard (4BOB) has impellers mounted between supporting bearings and the blower is coupled to a standard shaft motor. The 4BOB is suitable for higher pressure applications – up to 20 psig.

    16. Power Mizer® Cast Centrifugal Blowers The Power Mizer’s aerodynamic design features offer superior efficiency for reduced power consumption. It is ideally suited for 24/7 applications such as wastewater treatment aeration. The Power Mizer line can achieve pressures up to 28 psig.

    17. Single-stage “Scroll” Centrifugal Blowers The Scroll design is suitable for either low or medium-duty pressure requirements. Spencer also offers a “RB” line of single-stage blowers for heavy-duty performance applications.

    18. Custom Fabricated Blowers & Gas Boosters Meet the Most Demanding Applications. Spencer’s custom designed and fabricated centrifugal blowers and gas boosters are known world-wide as the product of choice to handle hot, high pressure or corrosive gases.

    19. Custom Designed Blower & Gas Booster Skid Packages. Spencer’s custom designed and fabricated skid packages have all components, including gas booster, control panel and system accessories all mounted on one common base. They are delivered prewired, prepiped and factory tested – ready for easy installation.

    20. Vortex® Regenerative Blowers & Packages Meet a Variety of Applications. The Vortex’s compact size, low noise and reliable operation are well-suited for a variety of pressure and vacuum applications within printing, food, metalworking, aqua-culture, medical equipment and others.

    21. Engineered Blowers & Vacuum Systems at Work Around the World… Providing Innovative Solutions Since 1892. Vacuum Systems Central Vacuum Systems Self-Contained Vacuum Systems – Mobile & Stationary Separators – Dry & Wet Custom Designs

    22. Custom Engineered Vacuum Systems to Meet Customers’ Specific Needs. Spencer central vacuum systems offer plant-wide solutions which extend vacuum utility throughout production, warehouse and office areas of industrial, commercial or institutional facilities.

    23. Self-Contained Vacuum Systems – Mobile & Stationary Units. In addition to component based systems, Spencer offers a wide performance range of integral vacuum systems, including the Industravac® and FastVac® lines. They are available as standard or custom designs, and as stationary or mobile units.

    24. Standard & Custom Separators – For Dry or Wet Pickup Spencer manufacturers various types of standard and custom designed separators to collect, segregate and recycle various types of dry materials or liquids.

    25. Electrical Controls Design & Panel Fabrication Completes A Spencer System Spencer has in-house design and manufacturing electrical control panel capabilities, offering customers a single-source for total system responsibility for their Spencer blower or vacuum equipment.

    27. NATURAL GAS CUSTOMERS PROBLEM SOLVED The latest product innovation from Spencer is the GasCube. The GasCube is an easy-to-install solution for efficiently delivering natural gas fuel to buildings that require higher pressures than street pressure levels provide.

    28. ENERGY PROBLEM SOLVED Spencer natural gas dilution systems give municipalities the ability to utilize digester gas as their primary fuel, with natural gas as a supplementary backup when needed.

    29. WWT PLANT’S ALTERNATIVE FUEL PROBLEM SOLVED Spencer digester gas booster skid package helps a Bronx, New York wastewater treatment facility move digester gas from the digester to the fuel cell at the desired pressure levels, helping the plant to use biosolids to generate electricity.

    30. AEROSPACE PROBLEM SOLVED Specially adapted Industravac ® mobile vacuum system has two manifolds with four vacuum inlets apiece to accommodate large cleaning crews with up to eight simultaneous operators in an aerospace manufacturing and retrofit facility.

    31. DIGESTER GAS PROBLEM SOLVED Spencer was the ‘sole source’ specified to provide a digester gas booster skid package to a Colorado Solids Handling & Disposal Facility processing digester gas – a byproduct of wastewater treatment. A 304SS hermetically sealed gas booster, bypass loop, valves, and custom control panel are all skid-mounted and ready for piping and electrical hookup.

    32. COMMUNITY ICE RINK PROBLEM SOLVED Spencer provided a duplex hermetic gas booster skid package to supply natural gas to chillers that keep the ice frozen in a rooftop ice skating rink metropolitan New York. The rink is used for public skating and by schools, hockey teams and organizations.

    33. BUS MAINTENANCE FACILITY PROBLEM SOLVED Spencer designed and built a Natural Gas Booster Skid Package for use at a Pennsylvania bus maintenance facility. The booster is used to fire a boiler at the full service garage for buses, doing engine overhauls, transmission work, body work and painting.
