John Wilkes Booth, born on May 10, 1838, in Maryland, was an acclaimed American actor and the assassin of President Abraham Lincoln. Notably talented, Booth began his acting career at seventeen and gained fame through his work with a Richmond-based Shakespearean company. However, his ardent support for slavery propelled him into infamy when he assassinated Lincoln at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. Following the act, Booth fled to southern Maryland and ultimately was tracked down and shot by Union soldiers twelve days later. His controversial life still captivates historians today.

  2. John Wilkes Booth • John Wilkes Booth is the one who assonated President Lincoln in Washington D.C fords theater. Booth fled on horseback to southern Maryland. He eventually made his way to a farm in rural northern Virginia he was tracked down and shot by Union soldiers 12 days later.
