  2. Jehovah M’Kaddesh“The One Who Sanctifies”“Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God. Keep My decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy.”Lev. 20: 7-8

  3. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here!2 Cor. 5:17

  4. Salvation“to be saved or delivered” • Penalty of sin – Justification • A past point in time • Presence of sin – Glorification • A future permanent position • Power of sin – Sanctification • A present ongoing process

  5. Paul’s working definition of sanctification:“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:13-14

Recognize that your spiritual life is a journey“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Phil. 1:4-6

  7. 2. Set Your Sights on the Final Destination“And we all …are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”2 Cor. 3:18

  8. 3. Ask for God’s help with your roadblocks“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” 2 Cor. 7:1

  9. “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like….But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.Gal. 5:19-23

  11. 5. Pause along the way to celebrate the progress“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders You have done, the things You planned for us.None can compare with You; were I to speak and tell of Your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” Ps. 40:5
