Homework and Standards • HW will be posted on Edlio on Mondays, but we try to post it on Fridays • Completed homework is due back on Friday. Students need to place it in the homework basket. Make sure it is stapled and has your child’s name for full credit. • The homework reflects work done in class and is aligned with the California State Standards. • We expect HW to be of your child’s highest quality (pencil is best). • This is a way for YOU to monitor your child’s progress (strengths and areas to work on)
Student Behavior Expectations • BE KIND • BE HONEST • BE RESPECTFUL • BE A GOOD LISTENER Token System – individual Class Reward – whole class Good citizen report card
Student and Parent Responsibilities • EDLIO • Shutterfly • Have your child go through his/her backpack with you daily. Homework, announcements, daily work, and other information will come home throughout the week. This is your window on your child’s progress. • Talk with your child about what happens in school. We work on verbal instruction to develop comprehension, accountability, and responsibility. • Help your child with developing friendships and resolving conflicts without you having to intercede.
Volunteering(TB test) • We NEED and WANT parents to volunteer in our classrooms on a daily basis. • We do a lot of “tasting” and cooking in class so please let us know about your child’s allergies or dietary restrictions. • Please come and share your talents, interests, cultural background
Activities in the Kindergarten Suite • Music • Computer Lab • Library • Physical education • Science projects • Art projects • Reading books • Cooking • Star of the Week • Buddies
