  1. Foundation Report to Club Assembly 31st March,2011

  2. Group Study Exchange (GSE) • Outbound team depart for District 1950, Sthn Germany, on 2nd May 2011, • Outbound 9790 team will visit RC Eltham on Thursday 14th April, • Adam Brown (Buckleys Beer)& Justin Justin( Eltham CFA) sponsored by RC Eltham, • Mike Wetzler has continued to be a part of the pre-trip training, • GSE presentation @ Conference (Sunday morning) bit laborious…inbound team lacks structure (leadership??),

  3. Fund Raising • Annual Giving ( EREY) $307.50..but, • Trivia evening in support of EREY tentatively planned for May 2011, • Craig Huggins (Gold 104.3) contacted to compare/organise/lead the evening, • President Mike & Mike Wetzlerorganising the evening on behalf of RC Eltham, • Plan to raise minimum $2,000, • Bike ride to Conference raised $1,710…great effort by Trevor Smith with support of Club members…thankyou.

  4. Polio Plus • US200mn challenge to eradicate Polio continues thru to 30 June 2012, • US163.4mn raised by @ end February 2011 • Attracted support of “Bike ride to Conference”, • Global Poverty Project (Hugh Evans) initiative with RI launched @ District Conference, • 100 day “eradication of polio” project to culminate @ Perth CHOGM in October2011, • District Clubs asked to support, contact Canberra, to get the Feds involved, • DG Alan has agreed to support, Rob Kilcullen is leading the RC Eltham effort, • RC Eltham has raised $3,700 for Polio Plus in 2010/2011 (“Local Harvest” evening last October raised $2,000)

  5. Grants • Matching Grant proposal “under construction” for Ian Seal water treatment project with RC Muyenga, Budaka Province ( Uganda), • Kevin Hadingham working on Application for minimum US$30,000, • Next application deadline is 1st May,2011…RC Muyenga are part of trial RI District 3 year Project Vision; new guidelines complex but likely strong RI support, • District Conference included sample of how Matching Grant works….sponsor clubs may provide <10% of total project funding however….presenter was hardly inspiring!!, • Aquabox is likely to apply for a Matching Grant in 2011/2012 to enable “onsite” box storage of 30’s & gold in Indonesia & Philippines…enable faster response to a regional disaster, • March has been International Literacy month-Conference presentation by Vocation Service (RC Seymour)-many RI initiatives in third world countries.

  6. Future Vision Plan • Foundation is changing the way Rotarian activities are funded, • 100 pilot Districts appointed for 3 years from 1st July 2010, • All Districts will commence using the new model effective 1 July, 2013 • Clubs encouraged to identify a pressing need thru “partnership”, • Work with the community to choose the best solution, • Minimum Global Grant is US$30,000 so scale of funding should achieve bigger project impact, • Use of District Designated Funds (DDF) central to plan…the bigger DDF the better…, • DDF growth is achieved thru Annual Giving <EREY>….need to boost the DDF by commencement 2013/2014.
