  1. Do you know the Difference between PID and FID? PID analyzer is a photoionization gas detector. It is used to measure the concentration of the ionized particles. Besides that, it is also used to measure the concentration of volatile organic substances. It simply measures the concentration from the sub-parts billions to 10000 parts per million.

  2. What technology is used by the PID Analyzer? PID Analyzer uses the Gas chromatography column supplier technology. This technology is generally used for gas separation in this equipment. The compounds with the lower vapor pressure remain stationary for a longer time.  There are two factors on which it depends for how long a compound can be in a stationary phase: The first one is the compound’s vapor pressure 2. And the second one is “what is its solubility in the stationary phase?”

You can easily afford them. · They provide very clear and quick results.  · And they are very long-lasting as well.  What is an FID? Like PID, FID also used to measure the organic vapors, gases, and some inorganic compounds. FIDs are generally heavier than that of PIDs. Besides that to determine the concentration of any gas the FIDs use the hydrogen-air flame to ionize the gas. For hydrocarbons, it is a very sensitive device. But there is a week point that they destroy the sample after the ionization.

  4. So, you cannot use the sample for any other analysis after FID analysis. On the other hand, the PIDs are non-destructive. In PID the sample can be used even after the PID analysis. There is a good thing about the FID, that there is no impact of humidity on the FID analyzer. So, in this case, these are better than the PID analyzers. You must be surprised to know that reading produced by the FID and the PID is quite different. FIDs show better results for the compounds of the carbon chain especially.
