  3. What are the four freedoms? Highlight the main idea of each freedom, circle the number (1, 2, 3, 4) next to that passage.

  4. In the long run, can more than one idea of freedom coexists within a single nation? Within the world?

  5. FDR, Fireside Chat, “Greater Freedom & Greater Security: I still believe in ideals. I am not for a return to that definition of Liberty under which for many years a free people were being gradually regimented into the service of the privileged few. I prefer and I am sure you prefer that broader definition of Liberty under which we are moving forward to greater freedom, to greater security for the average man than he has ever known before in the history of America.

  6. On pages 6 & 7 Highlight the evidence that FDR provides to lay the case for the Freedom From Want and the Freedom From Fear.

  7. “Of” versus “From” What does “freedom of…” mean? What does “freedom from…” mean? Which is closer to your personal vision of freedom?
