  1. 34Neighborhood Fellowship Seminars JSM1/34

  2. First largest cell church is in Korea, where in they have sent missionaries all over the world. The second largest cell church is in Columbia. In Columbia from 70cell groups it has grown to 20,000 cells in just 8 years! JSM2/34

  3. Prayer Cells can develop Leaders and multiply groups. The main Program of the Church is Cell Ministry Prayer Cells can be Evangelistic Prayer Cell views every Member as a potential Leader JSM3/34

  4. Multitudes followed Jesus but He did not train the multitudes. God gives dreams and visions but only fulfils them through prepared Vessels specially those who have been Egypt's prisoner. JSM4/34

  5. CORE VALUES10 Points JSM5/34

  6. 1. PASSIONATE Prayer: from 5 to 9 am, members come to Church to Pray. ‘Satan has deceived many Pastors by making them so busy that they don’t have time for Prayer’ Fasting: In a year, the Church People fast 85 days. Holiness: People have fallen into pride. ’Success is harder to handle than Failure’ . We should not play with sin but deal with it. JSM6/34

  7. 2. Authority and Submission Submission and Obedience is found in every Believer. “I submit to the leader over me, and I expect submission from those under me” JSM7/34

  8. 3. Time Commitment Believers are to be sold out to the Lord’s work and their time commitment reflects that fact. It is a “beehive of activity”. Senior pastor focuses on the preaching and motivating the sheep to multiply. The ministry of Evangelism and Discipleship is shared with the entire Church through Cell Groups. JSM8/34

  9. 4. Tight Knit Church Culture The Visionary Companies were more demanding of their employees and expected them to fit in, with the Company line and likewise at the Church. 5. Miracles and the power of God Do you want crowds to flock to your church? “Do the miracles of Jesus” Lord, if nothing happens t least I have tried JSM9/34

  10. 6. Vision The vision must take hold of your life, and you must be able to transmit that vision. Sometimes the vision that you have will seem strange to others. 7. Goal setting Every cell must multiply at least once per year JSM10/34

  11. 8. Church Growth Some people say its quality and not quantity. But God is concerned about both 9. Creativity Wesley changed his structure and methods almost against his will. He did not want to use women, but he did in exceptional circumstances. That exception became normal later. He did not want to use lay pastors but he did later. He did not want to preach in open air, but relented at a later stage so that more may hear the Word of God. JSM11/34

  12. 10. Importance of the couple You should involve in the ministry with your spouse. If your spouse is not involved in the ministry, you will always have a lame ministry. God called the man and his wife, God is calling couples. At Columbia, almost half of the staff of the church and the prayer cells are female. If a married man feels called to ministry, he must be ready to minister with his wife. JSM12/34

  13. Program of a cell meeting Preliminary Activity – 5mins Introduction – 10mins Cell lesson based on the Sunday morning sermon – 30 mins JSM13/34

  14. 4. Life applications – 5 mins 5. Final Activity – 5 mins 6. Offertory & Closing Prayer ( money to be handed over to the Church Treasure on the following Sunday or Friday) 7. Filling of the report (all approx. 60 to 90 mins) JSM14/34

  15. Groups are formed as all male, all female, young professional, youth, teens, handicapped, music teams, committees & prayer groups. They can gather at homes, workplaces, universities or a restaurants. The person who does not produce is hindering the conversion of thousands of people. You can have minimum 2 or 3 to begin with and then go to maximum of 12. JSM15/34

  16. If a cell group does not multiply, the responsibility is placed on the leader. The leader can be changed in order to breathe new life. It is sin to close a cell group. There are examples in Columbia wherein persons have 1,500 or 600 or 35 cell groups each. JSM16/34

  17. Highlights of Prayer Cells Focuses on multiplication Cell Group opens when a leader is trained All believers are expected to enter into Cell leader training Every Leader is a potential Supervisor A person becomes a disciples when she/he opens a cell Everyone must be ministered to, in order to minister. JSM17/34

  18. A Story is told of Michael Angelo passing a huge chunk of marble that lay on the roadside. Another sculptor had become discouraged with the marble and discarded it. Michael Angelo began to stare at the chunk of marble; he continued to stare until one of his friends became impatient and said “What are you staring at?" He replied “I am staring at an angel" Thus he could see something wonderful and worthwhile in a broken piece of stone The goal of the church is to transform every new convert into a dynamic cell leader. There is no post like Assistant Cell leader, who will do nothing but occupy a title. JSM18/34

  19. The burden, is to train every person to lead a cell group.Goal is not to recruit cell members but cell leaders. If anybody refuses to attend training to become a cell leader, that person can always find another church that will allow him or her to attend the Sunday service and nothing more. Existing cell leaders can become supervisors as their cell groups multiply. JSM19/34

  20. William Carey ventured out to India. We have to be willing to take risks, to innovate and experiment in order to find new and better ways of doing things. All levels should be winning souls. Everybody! Prayer Cells teaches priesthood of all believers. No one is allowed to stand by and watch. Cell group system is not one of the programs of the church but The Program. JSM20/34

  21. Danger of Prayer cell is that people can steer away from the church and make others as their own disciples. Like is I Corinthians, some said, I follow Paul and some others said they follow Apollos and others said they follow Cephas. We are called to make others into disciples of Christ is formed and not our own under any circumstances. In other words, we should ensure that the image of Christ is formed in ourselves as well as in others. JSM21/34

  22. You should also create dependence of people on Christ and not on yourself. The maturing and equipping of believers happens in the body of Christ and in the temple of God as manifested in local congregations. Prayer Cells form a relationship with one another like in a family between parents, children and grand children. Everyone involved in Cells must spend two hours in devotions as well as fast bi-weekly. JSM22/34

  23. In a cell the leader is like a Pastor of the cell. Like the ark of the Covenant rested in the home of Obededom, equally God's presence and spirit dwells in the cell groups at home. Prayer cells meet once a week. Do not encourage for the cells to rotate from house to house. Why? because the believers should know where to meet, so that they can join if they miss one week. JSM23/34

  24. There are only two groups i) Pastors and ii) Disciples Prayer cell is like this a) meet with the one who is discipling you, b) you lead an open Cell group and c) you meet with the 12 you are discipling. Men disciple men, women disciple women, couple disciple couples and youth disciple youth. JSM24/34

  25. A cell leader is a disciple and a disciple is a cell leader. The goal is that each person in the church leads a cell group in order to be a true disciple. If a person refuses to lead a group, its best to terminate the disciple relationship. Everyone is a potential leader and supervisor. Everyone form Senior Pastor to the kitchen worker is commissioned to find 12 disciples, primarily among the new believers. Cleaning ladies have cell groups; drivers have cell groups. JSM25/34

  26. Dr. Billy Graham was asked one this question ' If you are a pastor, what strategy would you implement? He replied 'I would choose 12 people and transmit my life to them and then send them to work.' Ministers need ministry in order to minister more effectively. Why 12? 12 tribes, 12 governors (I Kings 4.7), 12 disciples, 12months, 12 hours in day, 12 hours in the night and 12 thrones. JSM26/34

  27. Bible College is a must for all leaders. Subjects like hermeneutics, homiletics, eschatology, false cults, OT and NT theology and all other bible courses found at bible colleges in general are taught. Attending retreats and seminars is a must for the leaders. God wants the church to be fruitful and multiply and desires that church to grow so large that the church will have an impact on the entire nation. JSM27/34

  28. Multiplication also gives authority. Because more believers are in the Government who can help proclamation of the gospel and His kingdom. Thos who refuse to enter the equipping track do not blend with the church. Prayer cell is in obedience to God's mandate to multiply. Prayer cells fruitlessness and multiplication is a result of personal holiness. Multiplication cannot come through unholy servants. JSM28/34

  29. Prayer cells give authority in the Spirit. As you grow in the Word of God, committed to holiness and have a healed heart and receive liberation. God never said to the evil spirit 'will you please leave?' On the other hand, he commanded them to leave. Those who say that they cannot multiply are none but those who fail to trust in the authority of God and power of God, thus sinning against God. JSM29/34

  30. Keep always a goal and a banner. For example Goal of 70 prayer cells by 2005 end. Effective Cell leaders must spend quality time developing new relationships like friendship dinner with the neighbors, even playing sports with work associates. JSM30/34
