  1. Ayurveda and Sciatic Pain Sciatica is an extremely painful condition which is caused because of compression of the sciatic nerve. It is the longest nerve of the body. Sciatic pain originates in the lower back and continues all the way down to the toes. It can make the patient’s life miserable. There have been treatments for this condition in many practices, but the persistence of this pain is a force to reckon with. Sciatica treatment in Melbourne is done using Ayurveda. The results have been astoundingly positive. In Ayurveda, there are two kinds of sciatica conditions – VatajGridhrasi and Vata-KaphajGridhrasi. VatajGridhrasi is associated with warped posture due to pain, back ache and pulsating feeling. Vata-KaphajGridhrasi is a more severe form where, in addition to aforesaid problems, digestion troubles also plague the patient. Treatment of sciatica through Ayurveda includes the use of herbs and medicine that neutralize Vata (and Kapha), the imbalance of which is the cause of sciatica. Below is a list of herbs which are useful in treatment of sciatica through Ayurveda: Rasna (PlucheaLanceolata) Punarnava (BoerhaviaDiffusa) Nirgundi (VitexNegundo) Jambira (Lemon – citrus lemon) Masha (Black gram) Shigru (MoringaOleifera) Eranda (Castor root) Bala (SidaCordifolia) Treatment of sciatica is possible through stringent watch over diet and ample exercise. Ayurveda offers a chance at healthy medication and healing, without the use of any invasive techniques. Back pain specialists in Melbourne advocate trying ayurvedic treatments before going for any surgeries or invasive medications/treatment. Try ayurvedic herbs today!
