St Veronica’s Infusion Unit

Located on the ground floor of St. Veronica's, our infusion unit offers comfortable reclining chairs and is open Monday-Friday from 08:00hrs to 19:00hrs. Our team of physicians is always available when patients are in the unit. We specialize in various clinical specialties including rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology, respiratory, dermatology, endocrinology, urology, and oncology. Admission procedures for rheumatology patients are easy, with GP referral and pre-authorization for insurance if required. Contact our infusion nurse, Catherine Holdsworth, for more information.

  4. Admission procedure for Rheumatology Patients • GP referral to Consultant • Infusion booked by Consultant’s secretary • Insurance pre-authorisation required for all patients if not self paying • Phone call from Infusion nurse the week prior to planned infusion date. • Reminder Text

  5. Admission procedure ( cont’d) • Admission directly to St Veronica’s Ward • Admitted by Infusion nurse, IV cannula sited and bloods taken. • Rapid laboratory turnaround available – approx 60 – 90 minutes. • For Aclasta infusion – time in hospital approx 2 hours.
