SECURITY & EMERGENCY SERVICES • AWARENESS MESSAGE LUXEMBOURG GATE – ENTRY AND EXIT PROCEDURES • Recent wet weather has damaged some of the drainage systems on Avenue de Berlin and Avenue de Bratislava. This has caused the closure of Avenue de Bratislava and in the next few weeks will also mean that the West Gate into the 100 Area may also be closed until repairs are completed. This may necessitate entry and exit to the 100 Area through the North Gate only. • Although a separate AUM will be issued prior to this occurring, the increase in traffic in the vicinity of the North Gate is likely to see a consequent increase in traffic through the Luxembourg Gate. Therefore, in order to prepare the community and to minimize the disruption inside SHAPE, effective from 01 Dec 10 there will be further changes made to the entry and exit procedures through the Luxembourg Gate. • THE LUXEMBOURG GATE WILL BE ONE WAY ONLY RESPECTING THE FOLLOWING HOURS: • ENTRY INTO SHAPE – the morning period 0700-0930 hrs only!!! • EXIT FROM SHAPE - the afternoon period 1500-1900 hrs only!!! • A temporary/portable NO ENTRY sign will be placed at the Luxembourg Gate for traffic not having the right of way. • Pedestrians will not be affected by these changes. • Cyclists will be able to enter/exit through the gate but will be required to dismount from their bicycles in good time prior to entering/exiting the gate if they are travelling against the flow of traffic. • These changes will remain in place until the road repairs affecting the West Gate have been completed. At that time a further review of the Luxembourg Gate Access procedures will be conducted.
