  1. How Did the Modern-Day Courier Service Evolve? Courier services in NYC are essential to keeping many businesses going. But what many people don’t realize is that the modern courier system has evolved so much. How has time changed it? Here’s a quick look back at how it became what it is today. A brief history of courier services in NYC and the world Did you know that the first messengers were not humans but animals? In fact, until 1929, Australia was still using camels to carry parcels across long distances. Dogs were used, as couriers in colder climates. And, of course, large, strong animals like horses were used in ancient empires. A “courier network” of horses spread across Western Europe in the 16th century. In North America, the “Pony Express” delivered packages on relay networks spanning the East to the West. Horses continue to deliver parcels to remote areas of China and Tibet to this day, but for the most part, using animals to carry packages is unsustainable. Thankfully, industrialization quickly took over the world, and the painstaking task of transporting products; was left to machines. In the early 1900s, the United Parcel Service (UPS) was born out of founder Jim Cassey’s vision, covering cities across the Pacific Coast. The present and future of courier services in NYC Currently, there are multiple of courier services worldwide, delivering packages straight to a customer’s doorsteps. There’s no longer a need for camels and horses to traverse miles of concrete over several days. Instead, you can receive your order on the same day, showing just how much the industry has changed over the years. Advancements in the courier industry don’t end there. Aside from enjoying lightning-fast deliveries, customers can now also track their shipments online, which seemed impossible just a few decades ago.

  2. So what does the future bring for messengers and delivery companies? You can only expect it to grow even larger despite the slight setback brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions of customers now order products online, and it’s up to your business to meet this demand. Partnering with a reliable courier service in NYC will allow you to grow your sales online. The best courier companies have quickly adapted to the rising demand by offering same-day messengers, specialized medical deliveries, and reliable storage and management services.
