  1. What is food grade grease? Importance of Food grade greases Food processing equipment must be lubricated to ensure smooth production and reduce wear, corrosion, friction and oxidation. However, leaks are inevitable and lubricants do not discriminate between the materials with which they come in contact. This is why it is important for food manufacturers to choose the right lubricant for the job to keep consumers safe. This is where food grease comes in.Food grade grease works just like any other machine lubricant, protecting equipment from corrosion, friction, and oxidation. In addition, it must resist degradation by water and chemicals and must not react with elastomers and plastics. Food grade lubricants have been used since the 1960s and remain an integral part of the food industry to this day. What is food grade grease made of? Food grade grease is divided into two categories: non-synthetic and synthetic. The difference between them is mainly in the raw materials from which they are made. On-synthetic lubricants based on mineral oils. However, the term “mineral oil” encompasses a wide range of products, including crude oil and petroleum-based white mineral oil. These oils are highly refined, odorless, odorless, tasteless, colorless and free of stains and are subject to the rules set out in Title 21 CFR 178.3620. Synthetic lubricants are based on chemicals other than crude oil, usually esters or olefins. Compared to mineral oils, they have higher oxidation stability and are often used at high temperatures. Typical lubrication problems in the food and beverage industry: • Food grade lubricants need to withstand high temperatures as well as contend entry of flour dust/salt etc. • Processed food materials are either acidic or alkaline, lubricants need to be inert and should not affect their performance • Food grade grease should be able to meet the requirements of high speed machinery in food processing and packaging • As there is possibility of lubricant getting in direct contact with the food being processed, lubricants need to physiologically harmless, odorless, tasteless and colorless • Long term lubrication desired to ensure maximum productivity The importance of dietary fats

  2. When it comes to industrial lubrication, there is often a difference between premature equipment failure and efficient operation. In the world of industrial lubricants, not all lubricants are created equal. Automotive bearing oils and greases for various industrial purposes. One of the most important and unique lubricant options is food grade lubricant. When packaging or handling food, the possibility of grease leakage is a problem if traditional lubricants are used. When using food safe lubricants, excess lubricant, spills during curing, or leaks will not affect food or beverages. Food, beverage and pharmaceutical companies must continually introduce high quality, non-toxic food grade lubricants to ensure that their products are safe for consumers. Lubricant marketers, equipment designers and lubricant distribution engineers continue to face challenges trying to protect consumers from accidental contamination. Lubricants used in the food industry have more stringent requirements and expected performance than conventional industrial lubricants. There are currently three types of food grade lubricants, which are classified into H1, H2 and H3 lubricants. These food designation lists were originally created by the USDA.Food grade H1 lubricants are intended for use in the food industry where accidental food contamination is possible. The H2 category focuses on food grade lubricants that are used, in particular, in equipment and machine parts in areas with limited exposure. The latter is type H3 associated with food grade lubricant, i.e. cooking oil. These oils are used to prevent corrosion of carts, hangers and similar equipment. If you’re still unsure about the importance of food safe lubricants, here are some stories of how careless use of the correct lubricant can hurt you again. In 1998, Smithfield Foods recalled 490,000 pounds of boneless smoked ham due to contamination. Food contaminated with improper gear lubricant reported on customer initiative reported an unpleasant taste and burning sensation in the throat from eating contaminated ham. Another incident occurred in 2000 when 86,000 pounds of deli meats were recalled due to contamination with non-food lubricants. These consumers reported that the meat had an unusual smell and taste. Some people also report temporary bowel problems. By talking about these accidents, you will understand how important it is to use food-safe lubricants to protect your products and your company’s image. https://www.pl-supplies.com/ Al Jurf Ind area : 01, near China mall, wear house no. 6,7,8, Ajman UAE
