  9. CURIOSIDADES • Se llamaba Ricardo Neftalí Reyes Basualto. Tomó sunombre debido al poeta checo Jan Neruda. • Tuvo una hija que murió al poco tiempo de nacer de hidrocefalia. • Era machista e infiel. Estando casado fue infiel a su esposa con su sobrina. • Recibió el premio nobel de literatura en 1973. • Fue senador de la república precandidato a la presidencia y presidió en actinismos comunistas.
