WHAT IS SOIL EROSION • Defined as process transportation of soil particles by weathering agents such as water, wind, wave and glasier. • Phenomenon that changes the earth surfaces. • It could be caused by either nature or man made. • There is a need to study the behavior of erosion and method used in reduce the adverse effect of erosion.

  6. Background Information Soil erosion is a common problem that affects the environment and society Soil erosion will cause flooding, loss of property and life This is a big problem that we need to take attention First things, we must know cause of erosion

  7. First things, we must know cause of erosion Second thing, identifying the effects of soil erosion • After we know cause and effect of erosion, we can find a best way to control erosion

  8. The effect of soil erosion • Landslide. • The population of animal and plant in forest are endangered. • Shallow river. • The population of aquatic destroyed

  9. Effects on Human • Placement disrupted • Applicable water supply crisis • Agricultural activities can not be carried out • Tourism and recreation activities affected

Best way to control erosion • Attend a campaign about soil erosion =1 respondent • Monitor quarrying and mining activities = 1 respondent • Law enforcement = 1 respondents • Replanting of trees, shrubs, grass and other (cover vegetation in exposed areas on hill slopes) = 13 respondents • All the above = 14 respondents (Highest ) Lowest

How to solve soil erosion problems • Stricter monitoring of deforestation • Better enforcement of the law • Monitor quarrying and mining activities • Replanting of trees, shrubs, grass and other (cover vegetation in exposed areas on hill slopes). • Tree planting campaign. • Individual awareness about soil erosion • All parties must be involved and cooperate to solve the problem of soil erosion

Concluding • In conclusion, the best way to control erosion is a government should be responsible to handle soil erosion problem with better enforcement of the law and stricter monitoring. • Government and private sector must cooperate to protect the environment by conducting awareness campaign about erosion or replanting of trees campaign. • The community also must work together to ensure that the efforts made by government or private sector more successfully.
