  4. Awareness raising – senior managers Aim Explore how self directed support systems, based firmly on independent living principles, can meet policy objectives and lead to better health outcomes for individuals supported by the Complex Care Budget or living with a long term condition.

Learning Outcomes Managers will gain a better understanding of • The core principles underpinning personalisation and independent living – taking a holistic approach • Innovative ways in which self directed support can be used to increase choice and control in meeting health needs • How to make sure that self directed support systems meet national and local policy objectives • How the Talking Points approach can be used in a health setting • Key issues in assessment, monitoring and review
