    18. Measuring Drapery Height *With Manufacturer’s Deductions • Consumer MUST Know Drapery Rod Type and Location • Begin By Measuring the Window or the Opening to Be Covered from the Top of Rod to the Floor or End Location • Three Styles of Look: Floor, Trouser, or Puddle • For Floor Length – Deduct ½” – Only Style or Traversing Treatments • No Adjustment for Trouser Length • Add 8” for Puddle Length

Measuring Drapery Height *Without Manufacturer’s Deductions • Measure the Exact Height of the Panel Needed from Header to Bottom • If Ordering Tie Top, Tie Portion Should Not Be Included in Height • If Ordering Tab Top, Tab WILL Be Included in Height • If Ordering Rod Pocket, Header Will Be Included in Height • Must Be Fax Order Until Further Notice

    20. Measuring Valances/Cornices • Decide if Valance/Cornice Will Be a Stand-Alone Treatment or Over Another Treatment/Drapery • If Stand-Alone – Measure Width of Area to Be Covered or the Window From Molding to Molding Then Add 1” Per Side For Overlap • If Over Another Treatment – Calculate the Width of the Existing Treatment/Drapery and Add 1” Per Side • Height is Decided By the Treatment Selected • Mount at Least 4” Above the Window Opening

    21. Measuring - Returns • A “Return” is the Distance From the Front of the Treatment to the Wall • Returns Apply to Both Cornices/Valances and Pleated Style Draperies • There Are Only 2 Return Lengths; 4” and 6” • Select 4” if the Treatment is Stand-Alone or Under Something • Select 6” if the Treatment is Over Something • DO NOT Add Return Length to Overall Drapery Width

    29. Pricing & Measuring Exercise Customer Scenario: Catherine likes the traditional styles offered in the Levolor program. Her window opening measurement is 72” x 89”. She wants a layered look with a rod pocket drapery and a straight cornice to complete the window. On her drapery, Catherine selected the Shaitung (Bordeaux) split draw with a trouser length application for a decorative accent. For her cornice, she has chosen the Rashida (Noir) fabric. She also wants tiebacks. She will be using her existing Kirsch 1” Basic Curtain Rod drapery hardware. What is the measurement of her draperies and cornice, what is her final cost and how would this order be entered on the order form?
