  2. Main idea 1 • Human’s foray into space is difficult in early days, but now people with enough money can visit space easily.

  3. Vocabulary • Foray: to make a raid • Potential: possible • Colonization: to settle in a colony. • Distant: far off or apart in space (dis:=un=de =negative ) • Ordinary: normal

  4. Main idea 2 • At first, the space travelers were called space tourists, but later they were called “spaceflight participants”.

  5. Vocabulary • Adventure: a bold, usually risky undertaking • Estimate: an approximate judgment • Object: to refuse  (Ob: toward) • Term: a word or group of words designating something • Perform: execute • Research: to make researches (re: again / search: to explore in order to discover) • Assist: aid to • Refer: to assign to a class (re: again) • Voyager: a journey, travel, or passage, especially one to a distant land or by sea or air

  6. Main idea 3 • This paragraph points out Dennis Tito is the first person to purchase a ride on a space ship and Charles Simonyi is the first person to make a repeat space journey.

  7. Main idea 4 • This paragraph points out that one company plans to sell space walks, in which spaceflight participants can cavort in space while tethered to the ship by a special line in the future.
