  1. CAIS Web • What do we mean by “webification”? • Use internet browser-based client to replace CAIS software • Will use same TCP/IP communications as current CAIS • Could make CAIS available from the internet (then again…) • Eliminate site use of Oracle Client software

Possible Benefits • Easier to deploy software changes • Ability to use more current technologies (PowerBuilder is becoming obsolete) • Better security – especially for sites with strict policies • Use XML to link CAIS to other systems • Eliminate Oracle version problems • Comply with CIO “e-Government” goals

  3. Web Study • Evaluate possible technologies • Perform cost-benefit analysis • Create report for user community review • Create prototype system (against centralized test system) to get user acceptance

  4. CAIS CMMS Links • 14 CMMS’s identified in DOE • Passport and Maximo are used most (12 sites) • RSIS has additional DBA support available • Will work with sites to develop custom CMMS / CAIS links
