  2. RECYCLE

  3. Recycling is a process to change waste materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials.Recycling puts objects through a process that allows them to be used again. Recycling is the key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" waste hierarchy.

  4. Ways to Recycle • Recycling makes sense and saves euros • Smart—takes less energy to make products from recycled goods—save paper. • Save old tires, sneakers, newspapers, glass, vegetable peels, etc.

  5. What Can I Recycle? Cans and bottles… Cans include steel and aluminum cans such as soup, tuna fish, vegetables, and beverage containers. Bottles include both glass and plastic. Shampoo, cooking oil, milk jugs, laundry detergent, soda and water. Recycle any plastic container with a 1 or 2 on the bottom!

  6. REUSE

  7. To reuseis to use an item again after it has been used. Reuse materials and items so that they have longer life spans and do not get thrown away after the first use. Many items found around the home can be used for different purposes So before you throw those items away, think about how they can be reused.

  8. WAYS TO REUSE • Use a clean pizza box as an easel. • Make bird feeders out of milk jugs. • Compost your lawn clippings and vegetable peels. • Pass on clothes you outgrow to siblings and friends.

  9. REDUCE:

  10. "Reduce"- means using fewer resources in the first place. This is the most effective of the 3R's. Reduce is to make something smaller or use less, resulting in a smaller amount of wasteYou can reduce the amount of waste you create by choosing what rubbish you throw away. This can be easy and fun just follow the simple guidelines to reduce your waste at home, school or work.

  11. Ways to Reduce • Use the front and back of your paper • Share paper with a friend • Use antibacterial gel instead of water and paper towels • Take short showers • Use fewer items with wrappers • Walk

  12. 3R:

  13. 3R:though, it is greener to follow the old dictum: reduce, reuse, recycle. I know you've heard it a thousand times before, but with the "green" word now co-opted in the service of sales, the threeR's are aphrase -- and a principle -- worth reviving.
