Written by who, for who? pressure (Bentley), violence (P&T), power: pressure, and violence (Mintz) What secondary source themes does it relate to? 62: Barbados is not growningas much sugar as they used to because of a lack of slaves, an increase in taxes, and pirate attacks. 62: They ask for lower slave prices by the ending of the slave trade monopoly, reduced taxed burden, and two convoys per year for protection. 61: “one-third less of sugar is made, one-third less of English manufactures bought, one third less of shipping employed.” They reapply pressure back on to parliament by basically saying “if sugar tanks, you will lose a lot of industry” What are some of the key/ important events/points in the source?
