  2. Who Am I?Mrs. Jennings I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a bachelor of Science degree in Education. My certification is 1st – 8th grade all subjects. I have been married for almost 21 years to Dr. Ryan Jennings who is the pastor of Shadycrest Baptist Church. We have 3 children, Nathan (18) is a Senior at Pearland High School, Emma (14) is in 8th grade at Jr. High East and Daniel (12) is in 6th grade here at Alexander Middle School.

  3. *Progress Reports/Report Cards: • Progress reports will be sent via email through Skyward on the dates that are listed on the district calendar. • You may request a hard copy through the office if they would like one.

  4. *Tiger Folders: • Your child will be given a “Tiger Folder” that will go home every Thursday. This folder will include all of their graded papers, conduct card and any important notes. Please check your child’s folder for any papers that need correcting (under a 70), sign the conduct card and be sure they are returned the next day. Please be sure to clean out all graded papers. • Your child will start receiving a conduct mark on Tuesday for an unreturned Tiger Folder &/or conduct cardand will have a lunch D-Hall if it isn’t returned before the next Thursday when Tiger Folders go out again.

  5. *Late work: • 1 day late = -11 points • 2 days late = -20 points • 3 days or more = teacher’s discretion. • Your child may be Z.A.P.ped (Zeros Aren’t Permitted) from PE if work is not turned in. A conduct mark will also be recorded for every day it is not turned in.

  6. *Homework: • In the 6th grade we work very hard to prepare your child for Jr. High. Therefore it is up to them to stay organized, use their agenda and complete any work that may be assigned.

  7. *Academic Prep: Is a valuable learning time for students. In order to provide the highest quality of instruction, we ask that your child follow our school policy. Academic Prep time begins at 8:00. Doors close at 8:20. No late admittance. To ensure a successful learning experience, please: • Be prepared with the materials they need help with and/or the questions they have. • Bring all of their supplies with them, including their pencil! • Be ready to learn. Academic Prep is NOT for: • Homework • Locker Time • Visiting with Friends • Avoiding the gym or cafeteria • Playing games or teacher assistance Students who fail to follow our policy may be subject to the following consequences: • 1st offense: conduct mark • 2nd offense: lunch D-hall • 3rd offense: phone call home & before or after school detention assigned • 4th offense: office referral

  8. *Redo Policy:  Students should meet with their teacher to discuss grades if needed.   All students should know how to log into Skyward and check their grades. Please remember that in 6th grade we are working to prepare your child for Jr. High where if a paper is missing or needs correcting the teacher will NOT be asking them over and over for it!
