  3. Fantasy • Animal characters act like real people • Special powers • Imaginary characters • Settings may occur in the future • Usually a good vs. evil • May use science not discovered

  4. Adventure Tale • A story has characters who behave like real people and animals • The settings could be real • The events can happen in real life • Many actions may occur

  5. Folk Tales • A story has been retold over many generations • Folk tales often began with “Once upon a time” or “Long ago in a faraway place • Good or smart may win over evil are stupid • The story often teaches a lesson are moral • The story is told using the words he, she, or it

  6. Poetry • There are poems that rhyme • The poems often contain incomplete sentences each on its own lines. • Poems often contain incomplete sentences, each on its own line • Poems often contain repeated words

  7. Narrative-Non Fiction • Characters are real people, and settings are real places, and the plot is comprised of real events presented in the form of a story
