  2. PSYCHOLOGICAL CRIME THRILLER. ACT 1: 19 year old girl has turned to prostitution in order to support herself and depressed mum. She finds out she is pregnant and then starts to receive abusive blackmail letters, the stalking begins. ACT 2: The stalking experiences increase in violence and more frequently. The girl goes to the police who open a case, trying to catch her stalker before it’s too late. The D.I in charge of the investigation strikes a father- daughter relationship with the victim, (such as in Leon- 1994, with Leon and Mathilda) ACT 3: The stalker and victim finally meet face to face. The stalker turns out to be one of the police man on the case, who is also an ex-client of the girls and who has grown obsessed with her and wants to kill her in order to be ‘together forever’. After a tense struggle, the girl attempts to stab her killer before being slowly suffocated. Just before she passes out the killer is caught by the police force and the victim is rushed to hospital, but loses her baby.

  3. INFLUENTIAL FILMS. Our film is based on a stalker which was influenced by films such as Cape Fear (Martin Scorsese, 1991), Enduring Love (2004, Roger Michell), The Bodyguard (1992, Mick Jackson). In our opening title sequence we have used traditional thriller conventions which we were inspired by. The use of close ups of eyes was from Vertigo (Alfred Hitchcock, 1958) and Donnie Brasco (1997, Mike Newell). We also watched opening title sequences for Arlington Road (1999, Mike Pellington) and Brick (2005, Rhian Johnson) where we saw the technique of using extreme close ups of facial features and body parts which we have now decided to use in our opening sequence. We also want to use the idea of using mirrors in our sequence to reveal and introduce the character, as this is a typical thriller convention that has a mysterious and dramatic effect. The way we are introducing the titles themselves was inspired by opening sequences from such films as Bullet Boy (2004, Saul Dibb).
