You Have a Choice • Stay on Blackboard or WebCT • Spend a semester building your course in Angel as you conduct your course in BB or WebCT • Learn from others who choose to start in Spring 06 • Be an early adopter • Make the transition sooner to gain expertise • Want to develop curriculum for the future in a product that will stay

  3. Objectives • Describe the major sections in the Angel interface • Update personal information • Add content to your course • Copy or link content from your library resource also called master course to your spring or fall course

  4. Today’s training: A First Date • High-level overview of Angel’s main sections • Meet your new virtual space (The “walk-through) • Virtual Classroom or shell (1 per section) • Libraries shared space with other like sections or more • My Content personal space • Review your imported courses

  5. Log in to Angel • Angel Login : http://wvmccd.angellearning.com • First initial of first and last name followed by your Datatel ID ex: cv1097658 • Default password 6 digit birth date June 6, 1972 becomes 060672

  6. My Page • Are these the courses that you are teaching in the winter and spring? • Are these the courses that you expected to be imported by BB and WebCT? • Locate Preferences on this page • System Settings • Review/update your personal information

  7. Meet the Angel Interface • Select one of the courses that you will be teaching in winter or spring • The Lesson Tab the main one that you will be working in • Add content to one of your courses • Add quiz and review option settings at the advanced level • Class tab – student roster user and learner information • Calendar different views

  8. Meet the Angel Interface (cont.) • Syllabus Tab • Template • Upload • Communication • Tools (most like the “control panel” for BB users)

  9. Resource Library • Generally set at the course level (could be set at the department level) • All instructors teaching a particular course (Eng 001A) have access to the library (within a college)

  10. Importing classes • General findings • Documents such as PowerPoint or word etc. come through well • Web pages may have some images or links absolute rather than relative (need to be reset) • Quizzes scoring, feedback, some settings may need to be redone • Gradebook no settings were imported

  11. Library Resource • What is there? • What is missing? (import of classes was mid Oct.) • Web Pages and links • Quizzes • Add content (one) from your library to your spring or winter class
