ZZ STATUSafter theThursday Meeting David Fayolle – LPC/ALEPH WW Jamboree – 01/07/02 • The dilepton mass plot • The differences between published and new • Higher order corrections on the WW • KZZ
Dilepton Reconstructed Mass plot of the dilepton reconstructed mass for the llXX channel using the whole LEP2 statistics without the elliptical mass cut
The two plots ICHEP 2000
Published vs New -1 « Old » means ICHEP 2000 results « New » means qqnn and qqqq channels improvements by Haibo reprocessed data and new MC 200 GeV
Published vs New -2 Changing Nobs in « New » llXX and bbqq (87) : same selection s New / llXX & bbqq = 0.82 qqnn (2013) s New / llXX & bbqq & qqnn = 0.62 but selection has changed, so Nobs may not be so low for example qqnn (2016) s New = 0.71 • The 4q channel • « Old » values except « 4q New » : • s Old / 4q New = 0.62 • as compared to s Old = 0.69 Conclusion The change in the number of observed events is responsible for the upper shift of the cross section
WW with O(alpha) W cc03 > W nc2 -2% applied on WW-like AND ZZ-like events
ZZ 4f diagrams NC24 NC48
KZZ generator First check for the ’’4f’’ correction use KZZ instead of PZZNC8 189 GeV : s meas. 7% 207 GeV : s meas. 4% Only 25K KZZ events at each energy No more will be added Idea (proposed by Andrea and Brigitte) check the NC2 part between Koral and Pythia that is compute ’’4f’’ = WW + KZZ – KZZ(NC2) instead of WW + KZZ – PZZNC2
Conclusion • Test KZZ • Look at the fragmentation
