Pricing Policy Expressed in the annual Pricing Framework – consultation for 2014-15 Pricing Framework scheduled for July 2013 Development of Authority views on normative pricing Working with the ACSQHC to develop options for recognition of safety and quality issues in pricing Refinement of definition of in scope services

  4. Accurate Pricing Timely delivery of determinations for the NEP and NEC Refinements to statistical modeling Refinement to private patients in public hospital methodology Development of a Framework for jurisdictions to propose unavoidable costs for IHPA to examine

  5. Classification system development Implementation of AR-DRGs V7 and commencement of development of ARDRGs V8 Design of the Australian Mental Health Care Classification Further development of AN-SNAP Review of Emergency Department and Tier 2 Outpatient Classifications Commencement of development on a classification system for TTR

  6. Data standard development and data management Work with AHMAC to update NMDSs to include subacute data elements Possible development of mental health data elements Improve the efficiency of data submission by the jurisdictions through single submission process across national health reform agencies

  7. ABF research and education Evaluate the impact of ABF Evidence based research into ABF – some projects under consideration Provision of national resource materials for ABF education Continuation of the ABF conference

  8. International sales of AR-DRGs We sell to 13 countries but our client base will expand Proceeds are used to support the IHPA program to some extent Development of partnerships with international pricing agencies under development e.g. NHS, some US based pricers, Germany

  9. Disputes Our function to recommend resolutions to cross border disputes and assess cost shifting disputes has not yet been activated Requires a ministerial reference
